Are you obedient?

"Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other Gods, which ye have not known." (Deutronomy 11:26-28)

Obedience is to obey, to follow commands of others, to be in submission to those in authority. Obedience is to follow directions as we are told, without reservation, without question. We are to work with others and our employers as if we were doing it unto God. We need to be obedient in all areas of our life. One can not pick and choose which to obey. We are to line up with the Word of God.

"Servants, obey in all things masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ." (Colossians 3:22-24)

We as believers need to walk step in step with God, not just making it another part of our day. Our whole heart must be to God and Him be our focus. We should not focus on our daily distractions, we need to strive to be consistent with our obedience to His will.

Saul, was always caring about what others think, and not about his personal relationship with his Lord. Our relationship is more than just going through the motions, more than just showing up at church, more than just helping out once in a while. Everything that we do must be done with an attitude of Love and Obedience. We have got to start acting responsibly with what God has given us. There will come a day when we will stand before Him and be accountable for all our actions. God does not judge the outside qualities or actions, but it is the inner qualities that count. God is not pleased with the sacrifices that have been substituted for obedience.
