What are your true intentions?

"Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have your reward of your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 6:1

Do you know that we are supposed to be right standing before God in everything that we do?

How do you do things to be seen of men?

Do you do things to give God glory?

Do you always have to be praised for doing something?

Do you always feel as if you have to be noticed?

There is nothing wrong with that once in a while, to be encouraged or even encourage others.

When we do good things if our heart is not right then we are doing them for the wrong reasons, and God said, that we have our just reward.

Are you self serving?

Are you serving your own ego and looking for that human affirmation?

Are you a hypocrite?

A hypocrite is a person whose life contradicts what they say they believe.

In reality they are not serving God as they say, but they want to be recognized.

When we do not keep our eyes and heart on God we forfeit our eternal reward

We need not draw attention to ourselves, but to Our God.

Good works are not only a way for us to help the poor, needy, or even just to help out our neighbor; but to show the world that God is worthy of our surrender to Him.

It is when our heart is right, along with right motives that when we serve Him, we bring Him glory!

When we turn and let our pride in for our glory, in essence we are stealing God's glory!

We have place all the attention on us, when all of the attention should have been on God!

We should not compete for glory for our names sake; it all belongs to God!

"I am the Lord: that is My name: and My glory will I not give to one another, neither My praise to graven images." Isaiah 42:8

I will say it again, it is ok to get that pat on the back when it is deserved, but don't be out to just get that praise for the wrong reasons.

What are your true intentions?

What is the motive behind what you do?

Does all the praise and honor go to God for what you done or does it go for self gratification?

Are you sending God the message that you love Him enough by doing good deeds with a right heart?

Are you sending Him the message that I am going to give away my eternal right and be happy living here on earth with self gratification, or hyped up ego.

It is not just about doing good to be noticed.

We are to be good even when no one is watching.

God is always watching us - be careful what you say and do!

"And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not; ye have done all this in wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart;" I Samuel 12:20
