You can do it!
Are you having trouble kicking that nasty habit?
Are you always doing things over and over again?
Do you feel trapped by that habit of dependence of alcohol, addiction to drugs, cravings for nicotine?
Do you feel trapped by the habit of dependence of the lure of sensual lust, or a pill for every ill?
Do you know that you can be trapped by simple habits like gossip, worry, profanity, and irritability?
These simple habits are often practiced each and everyday without guilt and justified mentally.
The list is endless, for our habits as a numerous as every detail of our daily life.
Are you having a problem staying away from that problem which faces you each day?
Does that habit have you in it's grip?
God wants you to know that You have power over that thing that besets you, because of the power of Christ that is in you!
Victory is possible through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit!
Habits are living contradictory to God's Word!
We are to be free in Christ.
We are to live free from sin.
we are to live free from guilt.
We are to live free from habits.
We have the freedom and privledge to use and enjoy any and all the free gifts that come from God.
Christian freedom means that everything goes!
Our salvation is not of works, but by the free gift of God!
We are not be mastered by something.
If we are mastered of something we are being held under the authority of that thing that has it's grip on our life.
We have got to come to the point in our life that we stop rationalizing.
We need to stop making comments like...
Hey, hold on a minute!
I thought that if Jesus was in your heart that we were supposed to want to change and not stay the same.
What are you trying to deliberately be disobedient?
Are you trying to ignore God's Spirit that is in you to help convict you each time you do wrong.
It is that little voice inside of you telling you that it is wrong.
It is that knowing that something just isn't quite right.
We need to take each habit one at a time, that way you can stay on target.
We know that God can release that habit instantly, but we need to be prepared if it doesn't happen immediately.
Even if you have periodic failures - get right back up and keep plugging away.
You are on the road to ultimate triumph!
When you have an attitude of stick to itivness it will strengthen your self discipline.
We need to let go of that admission of defeat.
We need to focus our attention on the One who is worthy!
He will be with you there in that moment of need!
He is ready to help you with all the power you will ever need!
Stop wrestling with those habits and give them over to God!
