Do you really know Him?

"That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death;" Philippians 3:10

How well do you really know Him?

There are different ways to get to know someone.

You might know someone from work, school, church, social function.

You may even know someone about reading about them in a newspaper, history class, or even hearing about them on T.V..

You may have even learned about someone through hearsay.

We may say that we know someone, but how do you really know them?

Take a minute and think about it, how many people do you really have an intimate relationship with?

When we are intimate with someone we spend a lot of quality time with them.

We find out their likes, dislikes, what their favorite thing is, we get to know them personally.

We get to know their heart, their mind and their thoughts.

The way that we are intimate with others is the very same way that our heavenly Father wants us to be intimate with Him.

Having a meaningful relationship with our heavenly Father is not the same as a casual relationship!

We are to know Him in the most personal and intimate way!

Our heart and soul should be crying out for more of Him!

Do you want more of Him?

"Yes, futhermore, I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the anointed One). Philippians 3:8 Amplified

You see we are to truly know our Lord and Savior.

Knowing Him is not just by words, or deeds or even actions, but by believing on the One whom we believe.

It is a quest to even know more of Him.

So how do we achieve such a goal?

We can start by trusting in Him.

We can glean from His Word.

We are to take what we have learned, what has been taught to us, and use it in our daily life!

We are to get together with Him in prayer.

We are to learn His heart.

Don't you want a heart like David?

God said that David's heart was after His very own.

We are to let the illumination of the Holy Spirit reveal truths to us.

God is trying to tell us that He is more than enough.

He is more than we will ever need!

His desire is that we would desire Him more than anyone, or anything else in this life!

"And my God will liberally supply (fill to full) your every need according to His riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19 Amplified

"And they that Know Him thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee." Psalm 9:10
