Are you going to tithe this year?

This is a new year, last year is forever gone.

Are you planning to start off on the right foot this year?

Tithing is a area most of us do not want to talk about.

The Bible is absolutely clear on how we are to tithe.

I may step on some toes, but that is Ok cause if I have offended you then you have a problem giving God what is actually due to Him.

Are we to obey the laws of the land?

Yes!

Tithing is on the same principle as the IRS.

Would you cheat on your taxes?

Do you try to dodge the IRS when it comes time to pay.

Some do.

We as Christians can not do that.

We have a duty.

"And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Cesar the things that are Cesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marveled at Him." Mark 12:17

We have to give to God what is rightfully His.

This is the only area in our walk with Him that He says to try Him and see.

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine house, and prove Me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts, If I will not open you up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Malachi 3:10

The next time that the plate is passed and you think that by putting in a ten dollar bill is impressive, maybe you had better stop and think about all those blessing that you are missing out on.

He said that the windows of heaven would open and there would not be room enough for us to contain it all.

Wow!

If I had never in my life placed a tithe just reading that would want me to try it and see.

The blessings might not come back as financial, but we have other needs that are not related to finances.

We need to stop living above our means.

God know what we have need of therefore He will supply if you will take the time to only ask.

We are not to give as little as possible and keep the rest for ourselves.

We are not to have a misers mentality.

Why do we blatenly turn or head from the truth?

Why do we not trust our Creator to take care of our every need?

Yes, It is true that God does not need our gifts.

He does not ask to give for His sake.

He asks us to give for ours!

Don't let the enemy come in a rob you from your blessing.

Don't let Him tell you that you have to have all this stuff just to stay up with the Jones.

Don't let Him tell you that you can't raise your kids right without giving them all the material things that their friends have.

Even if the thought of ten percent is too high start small, work your way up and watch and see what God does with your giving!

Never give your gift to God grudgingly, but happily.

We need to learn have that grace in our hearts that we joyfully will make those sacrifices to God.

When we have found that joy, then our gift is most acceptable to Him.

If you give it grudgingly then you have your reward already.

"But I say this, He who soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall also reap bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound towards you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:" II Corinthians 9:6-8
