The heart of the matter
What does your heart say about you?
You mean it can talk?
Sure it can.
Everything that you have ever done in your life come out of the heart.
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23
When God created us, He designed our hearts for a special purpose.
He wanted to leave His imprint upon our heart.
He has painted a mural of His Word upon our hearts.
Maybe something important or bad has happened to you.
Maybe you were at the wrong place at the wrong time, and saw something that you should not have seen.
That image is forever burned upon your heart.
It could also be a good thing: maybe something special has happened, such as your fist kiss, your wedding, your first child.
Remember those feelings? They are imprinted upon your heart and spirit.
This is what God is talking about when He said "the issues of life."
Whether it be bad or good it is in your heart.
It is kinda like what you feed you body.
How do you talk?
What do you listen to?
What kind of things do you watch?
These all play factors in your heart.
What ever you put into your body will eventually come out.
Your spirit man will feed on what you give it.
Do you give it a daily dose of God?
Do you set God aside and only use Him for emergencies?
Does He get set upon a shelf waiting to be used?
What is your heart saying to you?
Do you ever listen to your heart?
Are you able to trust your heart?
All those images, all that language that you put into your body resides in your heart.
You will know where your heart is by what comes out of your mouth.
"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Do you ever stop to listen to what you are saying?
Have you ever said my "back is killing me?"
"I have broken something, I just know it."
"We are broke."
"I can't do that, I'm not smart enough."
"I'm a failure. I can't do anything right?"
Maybe you have called someone stupid because they didn't do what you told them to do.
Maybe they didn't listen to directions.
We all at one time or another have done or said some pretty rotten things.
These things get stuck in our hearts and come out, because they are what we have put in.
God said that we are responsible for our words, our actions.
"But I say unto you that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give an account thereof in the day of judgment.
We need to be careful what kind of images that we put in our hearts.
We are all subject to delusion, deception, selfish ambitions.
We need to be able to hear what God is speaking to us.
How can we do that if we are not putting in the right kind of things?
So the next time you wonder why your life is not going in the direction you desire, take a moment and listen to what comes out of your mouth.
Those words and attitudes that come out, those confessions, need to be positive not negative.
We were created by the Almighty.
We can have what His Word says we can have!
We can do what His Word says we can do!
We can be all that His Word says we can be!
There is nothing that can hold us back but our own selves.
Each one of us is a Kings Kid!
What is the abundance in your heart?
Is it foul words, or hurtful language?
Bad thoughts and actions?
If God's Word flows from you, the abundance in your heart is good.
For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of his evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." Luke 6:43-45
