Have you been purified lately?

"He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." Malachi 3:3

Have you ever watched a silversmith?

A silversmith holds a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up.

When a raw metal is refined it is put in the fire until it melts.

In refining silver, one needs to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The impurities separate from it and rise to the surface.

The impurities are then skimmed off, leaving only the pure metal.

If there is not heating or melting there would be no more purifying.

The silversmith, he has to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver is being refined.

As the impurities are skimmed off the top, the silversmith can see his reflection.

The surface is smooth and pure.

When God purifies us we are becoming more and more like His reflection.

He will keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire.

If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

How do you know when you are being refined?

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them.

Whatever your going through, just know that you'll be a better person in the end.

"And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire." Matthew 3:10
