Shake it off...

"And let us be not weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Galatians 6:9

Have you made poor choices?

Sure, all of us have at some point in our life.

Maybe some of those choices might include, but not limited to....

...Violence, hatred, alcoholism, incest, drugs, porn.

Maybe you have had something bad happen to you from abuse, sexual assault, rape, maybe it has not even been mentioned here.

Life is going to shovel all sorts of dirt upon you, one can either chose to lay down or you can shake it off.

We must shake off the past, to walk in freedom for today.

We must not let our past get to us.

One day a farmers donkey fell into the well.

The donkey cried for hours as the donkey could not get out.

The farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided that the donkey was old, and that the well just needed to be filled in.

The farmer thought that since the donkey was old and the well was old, it would do good to just fill in the well.

The farmer did not think it worth it to save the donkey.

The farmer had invited all his neighbors to come over and help cover the donkey up in the well.

All the neighbors that came grabbed a shovel, and began shoveling dirt into the well.

The donkey was scared at first and really began to cry that much louder.

All of the sudden, the donkey became quiet.

The farmer out of his curiosity looked down into the well.

Boy was he surprised, by what he saw.

With every shovel of dirt that landed on the donkeys back, the farmer watched him shake it off, then step upon it.

It wasn't long until the donkey stepped up, over the edge of the wall and trotted off.

I would hope that one would want to get out of the well.

I would think that one would want to shake it off and step up in their circumstances.

One right choice will not make things right.

We must continue to do what is right.

It is not always easy making right choices when you are hurting.

We do not carry ourselves through these tests and trials.

God carries us!

He is God of the daily!
