The Secret

"The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation." Psalm 118:14

I just wanted to pass along something that was given us in Sunday class, and I have added some scriptures along the way.

One day, one friend asked another,

How is it that you are always so happy?

You have so much energy, and you never seem to get down.

"A merry heart doeth good like medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Proverbs 17:22

With her eyes smiling, she said,

I know a Secret!

What secret is that?

She replied, I'll tell you all about it, but you have to promise to share the Secret with others.

"Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?" Job 15:8

The Secret is this....

I have learned that there is little that I can do in my life that will make me truly happy.

I must depend on God to make me happy and to meet my needs.

When a need arises in my life, I have to trust God to supply according to His riches.

I have learned most of the time I don't need half of what I think I do.

He has never let me down.

"But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

The questioner's first thought was...

That is too simple!

But upon reflecting over her own life she recalled how she thought a bigger house would make her happy, but is didn't.

She thought that a better paying job would make her happy, but it hadn't.

When did she realize her greatest happiness?

Sitting on the floor with her grandchildren, playing games, eating pizza or reading a story.

This is a simple gift from God.

"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall you Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?" Matthew 7:11

You know it too!

We can't depend upon people to make us happy.

Only God in His infinite wisdom can do that.

Trust Him!

"Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass." Psalm 37:5

And now I pass the Secret on to you.

So now what will you do?

Are you going to sit on the Secret or go and tell someone?

God in all His wisdom will take care of You!

That is reality is not a Secret.

We just have to believe it and do it.

We must trust God!

"It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man." Psalm 119:8 Amplified Bible
