What do your words say about you?

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." Luke 6:45

It seems to me that when we go through trials, God has away of bringing back to our remembrance those things which were said.

It may have been yesterday, just minutes ago, or even years, months, or days.

What has been coming out of your mouth lately?

Is there any difference in the way that you speak now than then?

"The words we say will teach if we practice what we preach." - Author Unknown

So what kind of words come out ypur mouth?

Are your words the same around everone?

Do you talk different when you are around those whom you know not?

"Let you speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how you ought to answer every man." Colossians 4:6

God will send you a trial to test you, He already know if you will pass or not.

He is trying to build up your confidence in Him.

He gives us certain trials, so that we can make the most of that opportunity to share the good news of salvation.

Have you had any such opportunities come your way lately?

What kind of language have you showed through your trial?

Have you showed bitterness, anger,or a bad attitude?

Has your actions been pleasing to God?

As a child of the King, our actions should reflect our faith.

We are to reflect God's goodness to others, even through the storms of everyday life.

God may have sent a trial your way, so that you can plant the good news of salvation.

He may then have someone else come along and cultivate and water that seed that you have sown.

You may be thinking about some words that have been already said, so how do I correct what I have already said?

You can't take back what you have already said, but you can go to that person that you said that negative thing to/about and ask forgiveness.

What if I have already forgiven them, do I still need their forgiveness?

Yes.

It is not enough to just forgive them.

"A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Matthew 12:35-37

I don't know about you, but to know that every last idle word is going to be judged, I would want to make sure that I cleaned up some of the petty things that I had said, especially before I die.

God does not forgive us because we forgive others.

God's forgiveness is based solely on His great mercy.

Those who are unwilling to forgive have not become one with Christ.

"That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 15:6

Christ even willing forgave those whom crucified Him.

"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots." Luke 23:34

Since we freely receive forgiveness through His mercy, we then are to turn right around and forgive others.

"So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses." Matthew 18:35

"Be careful of your thoughts; they may become words at any moment." - Ira Gassen

"Kind words do not cost much. They never blister the tongue or lips. They make other people good natured. They also produce their own image on men's souls, and a beautiful image it is." - Blaise Pascal
