Do you feel you live an undefeated life?

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;" Ephesians 6:13-14

There are some of us that like to hang onto their sins and still try to put on God's armour.

I am come to let you know that God has said that it is not possible.

When we put on the whole armor (which we will talk about) it requires life.

A life that is only given through being reborn again.

There is an instruction in Ephesians 6:10-20 that becomes each believer's responsibility to follow.

Once we have learned to follow His instructions with the armor and are completely covered daily, from the top of our head to the very soles of our feet; then and only then shall we be able to live the christian life in that mighty, precious and wonderful name of Jesus and shall not know defeat.

What comprise of the armour of God?

We have the Girdle of Truth; Breastplate of Righteousness; Shoes of the Gospel of Peace; Shield of Faith; Helmet of Salvation; Sword of the Spirit.

These are the pieces of armor that make up The Whole armor of God!

For today we shall take a look at the Girdle of Truth.

Before I go any farther, I just want you to know that it is not easy being a christian as ones have said.

It takes something more that just plain old will power to live a christian life and come out a victor.

There is s might spiritual battle that has to be fought and won.

It is more that will power; determination; and even mental attitude to achieve the victory.

We as Christian's must put on the whole armor of God so that we may be able to stand at whatever the enemy throws our way.

The armor is supposed to cover us completely, if it does not, the enemy of our souls will attack that place in which you have missed the covering.

Each piece that God has provided has a specific job.

The girdle of truth goes around your waist.

A girdle was a belt worn around the waist of a soldier, holding that soldiers garments in so that they did not hinder him in the meeting of his enemy.

Likewise we can have a belt around our minds so to say that we have a belt of scripture reigning in and controlling our desires.

When we properly have our loins girded about with truth, all our flabbiness and looseness of character will be taken away.

A proper fit of this girdle of truth means that we must read the Word of God.

This is a dally task.

One cannot be a christian and not read the Word of God.

We must study, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth." 2 Timothy 2:15

The more we read, the more it comes alive, the more we become strong in Him!

It is like taking proper nourishment.

It id proper nourishment: it is bread: it is food; it is our very life: our very existence.

Everyone knows that you must have a proper well balanced diet to be strong and healthy; so it is with when it comes to the things of God.

A Christians food is the Word of God.

One cannot live a consistent daily life as a christian without His Word.

Without regular food, one would die and shrivel up, it as the same with God's Word.

It is useless if you are just trying, just beginning to live a christian life if you have not the proper food.

One meal is not good enough.

You can not live on yesterday's or last weeks sermon.

You, yourself cannot go a month or six weeks with real everyday food; so why would you not feed you spirit daily?

We must start to use our common sense that God gave us and learn to become totally satisfied in Him.

I know that there are many out there who are professing to be Christians and to not partake.

Ok, so if you have ask God for forgiveness and start partaking of His Word daily.

Without it we do the damage of not growing spiritually and puts us in a bad place, bone dry.

To search the Word of God it will cost you.

It will mean having to do battle with your will; having to give up you favorite habit, or that thing that you do to self indulge in.

We must crucify the flesh in order to obtain the personal victory.

It means something to study out God's Word and then walk in the light of it's truth.

This is one of the biggest reasons that there is still so much carnality in the churches today; people do not want to give up their time; their lives and learn from the Word of God.

God gave us this life anyway, so why wouldn't we want to give everything back to Him?

"Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began." 2 Timothy 1:9

amen... a life in the Spirit gives power. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave.

His Word is life and all who eat of it will be nourished by its goodness...as usual, you are right on the money! I am reminded of a phrase I heard Mike Murdock say once, although I don't think it's original to him..."If I am truthful, it will protect me..." If the Girdle of Truth isn't holding up our garments, then there would always be the potential for tripping over them...much like the potential of tripping over ourselves in a lie...I'm reminded of how anorexics lie to themselves about their hunger in their effort to be skinny...if we don't eat we die...I like the comparison to "eating" the Word...we must do it or we are lying to ourselves and becoming spiritually anorexic...
