Shield of Faith

"Above all, take the shield of Faith, wherewith ye may quench all the fiery darts of the wicked," Ephesians 6:16 - Geneva Bible

The shield of faith is the fourth piece of armor.

The shield of faith is having that trust in God and His word.

The more knowledge that you have in His word, and know about Him the more faith that you will have.

God will give us more strength the more we endure.

Nothing can grow spiritually without a struggle.

I don't care how deeply spiritual you may be or what spiritual experiences you may have had in the past, but disappointments they will come.

The enemy will try to instill doubts into your mind regarding the faithfulness of God towards you.

If we don't cover our hearts with that shield of faith then the enemy will come in the night like a roaring lion, when you are trying to pray and puts doubts and fears into your mind.

You will begin to question God if He is even listening and hearing the cries of your heart.

The enemy will try to tell you that God has forsaken you.

My friend let me tell you He has not forsaken you!

It is at that very moment that be begin to question God, in that very small crack, the enemy will sneak in.

Once the enemy is in then those fiery darts come and attack our very lives.

When we have that shield of faith over our hearts, then and only then we will be able to walk through those afflictions that come in the midnight hour when there wasn't a star in the sky.

When we have that shield of faith over our heart then we will be able to stand even when the very atom of our being has felt the shaking of the enemy.

We need to learn to look up and ask God what He wants us to learn from our circumstances and not grumble about them.

We must know God's Word to keep our hearts pure.

The more that you know the bigger the shield, the less you know the smaller the shield.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and by hearing the word of God.” Romans 10:17

Your knowledge of God, and His word must increase if you want your faith to increase.

This is the way God choose for us to be able to ward off those fiery darts of doubt, fear and unbelief.

Those fiery darts that the enemy sends our way to bombard us, we need to put out the fiery darts with the truth -the Word of God.

Each piece of the armor is very valuable.

The shield of faith is used as a covering or protection of all the other pieces of armor.

We are talking about the protection of the mind, our faith needs to be so strong that it is unshakable in what God says.

We are to be in complete alignment of what God says in His Word.

It is ours to remain true and faithful, protecting our hearts with the shield of faith.

That is Faith in God: Faith in His dealings with us; Faith in His promises; Faith in that He is; Faith, even in the midst of our afflictions, that He is our portion.

"Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him." Job 13:15

When we take up that shield of faith no matter what may come our way we will have that perfect trust in Him!

So don't let that enemy come in and give you handfuls of doubt, fear and unbelief.

You and I could not have gone through what we have experienced if we had not that shield of faith that covers our heart and protected us from the fiery darts.

Ask God for the heart of a child for that which you do not understand.

Have faith in God's promises that our past sins be forgiven, and removed as far as the east is from the west.

"As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12

He has blotted them out and buried them in the depths of the sea.

"I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy sins: return unto Me; for I have redeemed thee." Isaiah 44:22

My friends, if you have not taken up that shield of faith as of yet, I urge you to start today, right now.
