For such as time as this.
"For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will accumulate teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new. They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths."
2 Timothy 4:3-4 Holman Christian Standard Bible
With this new direction that America has chosen, more than ever we need to be a man or woman of prayer.
Our heavenly Father has told us that this day was coming.
We should not be surprised.
Ya know, I don't know about you, but last night being woke up by His Spirit (as I did not stay awake for elections), as I awoke I could feel a shift in the atmosphere.
I did not even have to turn the T.V. on, but I did just to see.
My spirit was not happy with the news.
God is still in control no matter who is in office and we are to pray for those in authority.
"First of all, then I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity." 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Paul is urging us to pray for each other and for those in authority, no matter who it is.
When our lives are going perfectly, peacefully, and quiet, it is easy to forget to pray for those in authority.
We have taken good government for granted and now we shall experience problems from not being obedient.
There will come a time in America where the Christian will be persecuted for his beliefs.
It takes discipline to stay committed to Christ.
We are to seek God's will not our own ambition, desires or needs.
We must discipline ourselves to be in God's Word and to obey it!
We must know the truth in order to defend it.
We must have His Word hidden in our hearts.
"Thy Word have I hidden in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11
When we keep God's Word we are treasuring it, so His Word will be that of a deterrent from doing sin.
We must make His Word a guide for everything that we do.
We are to pray and seek Him first.
But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33 American Standard
We are to fill our thoughts with His desires, and to pattern our life and character after Him.
So what is your desire?
Is it people, objects, lusts, money, health, no matter what your desire is if you only would turn them over to God and seek Him first, He shall take care of all those needs.
For all His promises won't let go of us!
"So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of it's own." Matthew 6:34 American Standard
As we pray let us pray for the President, State and Local Governing Authorities Pastors and Spiritual Leaders. 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Let us pray for protection on a national level as well as state and local, for our Service men and women who protect our country, and on a personal level. Psalm 91
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May those who love you prosper; may there be peace within your walls, prosperity within your fortress. Because of my brothers and friends, I will say peace be with you. Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good." Psalm 122:6-9
"I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who treat you with contempt, and all the peoples of the earth will be blessed through you." Genesis 12:3
Pray for wisdom and knowledge that we shall walk pleasing to God. Colossians 1:3-4
Most of all pray from your heart.
God will hear and will answer, maybe not the way we expect, but He will answer.
Always remember to Thank Him.
We you go into your prayer time, thank Him and love on Him before you even ask, or pray for others.
He is a good God, and He gives grace in time of need.
Everyday if a fresh opportunity to find God's extraordinary joy in the most ordinary places.
God is still God and He is in control no matter what circumstances look like.
In whom do you believe?
In whom do you have your trust?
Is your soul in grief today?
"My soul weeps because of grief: Strengthen me according to Your Word."
God provides the guidelines, and will come to strengthen us according to them.
So let us invite Him and let us respond to His direction!
